Abstract
Summary: This study aimed to analyze the pattern of tooth extraction and associated sociodemographic factors among 626 Syrian refugees treated in dental clinics at the Zaatari camp. Results showed that dental caries was the primary reason for extractions, followed by tooth fracture/unrestorability and periodontitis. Molar teeth were most commonly extracted, with lower anteriors being the least. Factors such as older age, smoking, lower education level, poor oral hygiene, and male gender were associated with a higher incidence of tooth extraction. The findings highlight the impact of the Syrian crisis on refugee oral health and emphasize the need for targeted dental care interventions in refugee populations.
