Abstract
Summary: This study assessed the impact of air abrasion using bioceramic abrasives on the surface properties of different dental implant materials. Three types of alloys were examined: commercially pure titanium, titanium-zirconia, and CpTi SLActive. Surface roughness, elemental composition, and dissolution of the applied treatment were evaluated over three weeks. The bioceramic powders altered surface characteristics, with notable changes in surface roughness observed. However, these alterations were consistent across different materials and surface treatments. The ongoing dissolution of bioceramic powder from the surfaces suggests potential implications for implant healing in cases of peri-implantitis.
