Abstract
Summary: This study investigated microscopic differences in enamel wear behavior among different age groups of adolescents and adults. Enamel specimens underwent simulated occlusal wear tests, revealing distinct wear characteristics based on age. Immature enamel exhibited greater resistance to chipping compared to mature enamel, with differences in wear areas, crater depths, and microstructural impact. Immature enamel showed wider and deeper craters, while mature enamel had flatter wear areas. These findings suggest the need for tailored restorative materials based on enamel maturity to address wear patterns effectively.
