Abstract
Summary: This study aimed to enhance accessibility to emergency dental care by evaluating socio-demographic characteristics, types of dental emergencies, and treatments at a specialized dental center in Saudi Arabia during the COVID-19 lockdown compared to pre and post-lockdown periods. The impact of COVID-19 on emergency dental services, including changes in patient profiles and emergency types, was significant, with pain being the primary reason for seeking treatment. The study underscores the need for ongoing assessment of COVID-19 implications in dental practice and highlights the potential challenges in balancing dental treatment provision with disease prevention in future outbreaks.
