Electronic Monitoring is one of the latest alternatives to Custodial penaltiesthat began to be applied during the last few years in numerous penal regulations. It has been adopted by Jordanianlegislationthrough the adjustmentsit has inserted to penal laws so that sanctions could be implemented outside penal institutions; which could make it possible to overcome the negative effects of implementation of penalties inside penal institutions; thus, achieving the aims of criminal policy to reform the convicts, rehabilitate andreintegrate them as good citizens of the community. This research aims at shedding light on this newly-established regulation; by reviewing and analyzing relevant legal provisions. A number of finding were drawn; most importantly is that the Jordanian penal legislation is among few legal regulations that have implemented such a regulation in misdemeanors generally, and in non-personal felonies; when mitigating circumstances are invoked, and when imprisonment is reduced
