Description Considered the main causes, that leads to a decrease in the service life of high-performance abrasive tools. An analysis of the trends of wear found that one of the main causes is the destruction of" abrasive grain-a bunch of". To increase the service life of the grinding wheels operating at higher speeds, it is suggested reinforcing the most peripheral area of the wear surface of the disk and to compensate there arise when working at high speed radial and tangential tensile stresses by plastic deformation of the surface bonding metal ultrasonic shock treatment.
